“Upstacker” stacking arm for controlled and
safe sheet placement
The “Upstacker” stacking system ensures controlled, gentle, and safe stacking of the corrugated cardboard sheets
cut by the rotary cutter. Thanks to intelligent conveyor technology, integrated safety systems, and user-friendly
adjustment logic, it guarantees a stable production process with neat stacking and minimal downtime.
The corrugated cardboard sheets cut by the rotary shear are deposited onto a slower-moving conveyor belt. A brush brake prevents the sheets from flying out of the machine uncontrollably. The machine starts up when the corrugated cardboard is detected at the machine inlet.
It is possible to transport the edge strips ejected by the SMT rotary shear out of the production area via a cross conveyor belt, ensuring that only the required sheets are stacked. Waste can be removed from the operator side of the machine. A special feature of the stacking system is the gentle placement of sheets in the final third of the maximum stack height, achieved through the use of a curved conveyor belt path.
All machine adjustments are made manually, but always with motorized assistance. Changes can be made at the control panel. Thus, no intervention during machine operation is necessary.
An invisible light curtain is used for inserting intermediate sheets. This briefly and fully automatically interrupts production for the intermediate step. Only short downtimes are required.
Safety is the top priority for the system’s designers. Multiple safety systems are in place as standard, each of which monitors the subordinate safety system.
For maintenance of the stacker or the circular shear, the stacker can be moved in the direction of transport using motor power. This allows for easy access to the machine. Furthermore, there are two sliding doors at the machine’s inlet for temporary access to the machine. Various pressure rollers are mounted on the stacker to ensure neat stacking. A total of four manually adjustable side guides also assist with destacking. The sheet stop is motor-adjustable. The drop height of the corrugated sheets can be adjusted via the installed sensors.
